6 Overlooked Delivery Bag Must Haves

 In Blog

The few days before your child is born can be maddening for moms. Those days are full of worry and anxiety, excitement and joy. It’s easy to see how a mom-to-be might forget some things. Surely you know to pack a bag so everything is ready to go when it’s time, but moms sometimes forget these essential items…

1. Extra Storage

While you may only need a single pregnancy bag to fit all your essentials on the way to the hospital, you’ll need a lot more storage space for the trip home. Between all the hospital goodies like diapers, blankets, and creams, and the endless gifts from well-wishers, you’re bound to leave with a lot more luggage than you arrived with.

2. Flip Flops

Flip flops may not be the most fashionable footwear, but new moms are unlikely to care much about this after giving birth! Flip flops are perfect for the short trips from your room to the bathroom, shower, or when it’s time to head home with your new arrival!

3. White-Noise Machine

Creating rhythmic white noise is actually very calming and soothing to a newborn baby. Additionally, the sounds of the hospital will make it tough to sleep for both you and your child. Use this machine to drown out the noise and create a relaxing environment for your very first nap with baby.

4. Cell Phone Charger

Bringing the cell phone along is a given, as you’ll need it to stay in contact with all your friends and family. Between all the calls and texts, and the amount of pictures/videos you’ll likely be taking, a cell phone charger is essential!

5. Baby Book

Delivery day is not only the arrival of your new baby, but it is the beginning of his/her very first baby book. You’ll be happy that you brought this baby book when you can record all the important birth information and any other special moments that occurred during your stint in the hospital.

6. Personal Care Products

While the only concern of a new mom is the health and comfort of her newborn baby, girls will ultimately be girls! Bring your favorite personal care items to make sure you’re comfortable with how your hair and make-up looks for all the pictures and videos you’ll undoubtedly be in with the new baby!
